ABOUT US

Think. Reason. Question. Experiment. These are just a few of the skills and qualities that children will develop at Little Munchkins. Since our founding in 2004, we’ve focused on guiding and supporting our kids through all of their childhood transitions and nurturing and encouraging them to become the most independent, inquisitive, enlightened, social and overall best versions of themselves possible.

All activities are designed to adequately nurture the emotional and intellectual growth of our children. Through stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, our young children are free to develop into bright young minds.

We adhere to strict child protection and safeguarding policies to keep our kids safe and adopt comprehensive transition schedules with our feeder schools so that our children find starting Year R as easy as possible. We adopt Ofsted's view that learning in early years should be through play and fun, engaging experiences and activities to ensure that our "Little Munchkins" begin their journey at  Infant or Primary School ready, eager and willing to engage and learn.

Reach out to learn more, and contact us today to arrange a tour by email at admin.little-munchkins@btconnect.com or phone on 01329 230681. We have spaces for all ages, including September entry.

At Little Munchkins we offer breakfast, snacks, lunch with pudding and tea. All of our meals are freshly prepared using the finest ingredients, by our friendly, qualified chef, Alyson. We offer a diverse menu to cater for all including vegan, vegetarian, halal/kosher, gluten-free, dairy-free etc. We promote healthy eating so all of our recipes are highly nutritious whilst giving our children a delicious and varied diet. In addition, all of our children receive free milk, rich in Calcium to promote strong bones and teeth! We are pleased to comply with Fareham Environmental Health Department's recommended annual inspections of our catering facilities and are proud to say that we have always passed with flying colours!

POLICIES

Our policies are written in line with our local authority for early years education and all of our staff are regularly reminded of their content

FULLY INCLUSIVE

Little Munchkins are very proud to be a fully inclusive setting with full access for wheelchairs and mobility equipment. Our wonderful, trained SENCo, Vicky, is (along with all our staff) always on hand to offer full support to children with special educational needs of every kind. At Little Munchkins, children with physical or other disabilities are fully integrated with their peers with heart-warming results (see the video link below of one of our pupils using his "Wizzy Bug" for the first time and the wonderful encouragement he gets from the other children).  In addition we are highly experienced in the SEN EHCP field and are always available to offer advice and guidance to you, the parent, if your child has Special Educational Needs. We are one of the few settings who are pro-active in ensuring EHCPs are in place, along with everything else SEN children may need, before they start school.

TAPESTRY - THE ONLINE JOURNAL TO KEEP YOU INFORMED OF YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING AND PROGRESS

At Little Munchkins, we record your child’s learning using the secure online journal company called Tapestry. You can access your child’s online journal as often as you wish, on many different devices from your phone to your PC. Tapestry allows us to instantly upload photos and observations of your child. You are then emailed to alert you that something new has been added to your child’s Learning Journal and you can then log on and view what your child has been up to. A massive advantage of this system is that you can instantly add your own comments to entries. The safeguarding of our children is very important to us. Anything that is added to Tapestry will be added to our school account and can only be viewed by our school staff who use the system, and yourself, using your own log on. Only you will have access to your child’s book; this cannot be seen by other parents. Another great advantage of this system is that we can give up to 4 different people access (with your permission) so parents who work away or grandparents can also have the pleasure of seeing your child's achievements.
